I’d call this Salzburg’s couloir classics. About 50° of fun, fairly safe, 1500 vertical meters (when starting at upper parking lot Lenzanger). You need to be swift and start well before 6 AM in March. Otherwise you risk others scraping the best snow away from the couloir like in our case. We were unfortunate to have 2 scared skiers in front of us. As they started descending first, they trashed the snow by going sideways the whole thing. That’s why we finished few meters below the top, as it didn’t make much sense to go for the trashed part – we’re fun shred focused. Lower half was more fun to ride. Our original plan was Hocharn, but the crowds and too much sun on that east face drifted us away into this lovely dark side with good quality snow 🙂 That said, that’s why we didn’t have crampons nor ice pickles with us, both highly recommended!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this 360VR Sesh and find some alternatives in this region. There’s plenty of other interesting spots in this area and this should get you a better overview than the sattelite imagery. Check it out and go get it! 😎
